June 26, 2008: Hong Kong is fantastic
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved visiting Hong Kong. My recent trip to the wonderful city this weekend is no different! Hong Kong is so great, because the technology is so up-to-date, if not more advanced than the technology in America. What I like most about Hong Kong, though, is that a lot more people speak English! And since I can’t speak Mandarin, I think I will fit in perfectly here for 5 days.
And I suppose it’s a really good time for me to take a break from being in Taiwan! I think about it like this: I’m taking a mini-vacation from my real vacation…haha! Maybe I’ll have a chance to re-evaluate what it’s been like for me in Taiwan, so I can really appreciate all that I have there; and when I go back to Taiwan on Tuesday, I’ll be able to catch up with my friends and start to do things on my own rather than act like I am having a boring time, which I have been because I haven’t been out much ALL the time…it’s Taiwan for crying out loud! And I am not going to be in Taiwan always! I have 60 more days overseas before New York, so I really have to appreciate everything–no matter how boring situations can get!
I’ll keep you posted on my adventures in Hong Kong!
xoxo,
Joanne
